Well fellow lapbanders I had a special day today.  I had my lapband surgery on July 2nd and today I lightly popped onto the scale and I am now 299 lbs  . . . . . Hooray!!!  That's 67 lbs in 3 months 3 weeks.  Not bad for a 61 year old "Loser" . . . LOL   Everybody else has been posting their milestone moments as a "Onederland" achievement but with my frame I doubt that I would look very good at 199 or below . . . I am shooting for a 210 goal in the end but right now I have not seen the south side of 300 for easily 10 years.  It feels great.

I am so much more active.  Power walking 3-4 miles daily, painting the house on a ladder, hunting my A$$ off in my new skinnier body where all my hunting clothes are now loose. . . .

Just wanted to make this shoutout to you guys that have provided all the support and say "Thank You".  You are the best.  And to those of you that are new to this losers bench keep up the faith and hold on as you will lose that weight and more energy that you have had in a long time.

Barble,

Thanks for the nice comments. . . Yes, with each fill you feel some restriction that day and then it will subside until you reach a level of restriction that will last.  The stomach swells with each restriction which makes the opening between your pouch and stomach even smaller.  Then the swelling goes down and that is the feeling of no restriction.

I have had my 4th fill and it did give me a level of restriction close to what I need.  But, it kinda went away and I probably need just a bit more.  I know I can eat more than the cup of food so that tells me that things are just slipping thru.  I have been working hard at eating until I am satisified and then pushing the plate away and saving it for another meal.  This seems to be working.  Got on the scales this morning and I have now dropped to 294.  Just loving it.  I had to make an adjustment to my attire yesterday.  My khaki slacks even with a belt tighened all the way were just sliding off my hips.  So, I added a pair of my camo hunting suspenders for support.  That along with a pullover parka or jacket is the ticket for trips to the store. . . my pants will now stay in place.  Seems like a trip to the store for more clothes is in order. . . . . I love it . . . LOL

Take care and keep up the good work with your WL and I am sure you will have great success.

PapaBob,

Congrats on your wonderful weight loss. I have just started my journey to weight loss.  I had my surgery on Oct 28th.  My band also holds 11cc just like yours.  My question for you is did you find yourself losing weigh before the fills or after the fills?  It been almost 2 weeks and I have only lost 9.6 pounds which I am sure is mostly fluid from the surgery.  I understand everyone loses at a different rate but just wondering if how  you lost your 67 pounds

Actually cbally my Lapband holds 15cc's.  I have had 4 filles and now am up to 12cc's.  I started losing weight from the getgo because I followed the program to the letter.  I forced myself to only eat the recommended portions and controlled the sugar and carbs.  Each person is different and I had a specific goal for the fall.  I wanted to lose 80 lbs by Nov. 1 as I am an outdoorsman that hunts a lot.  I wanted to lose this weight to help with my capabilities in the field.  Didn't quite make that number but came close.  I am now at 72 lbs down from my PATs weight which was my highest.

The weightloss was enhanced as the fills progressed.  I still think I need another fill and these will be a bit smaller with a much greater effect on the band.  I have restriction but not like what I would like.

Good luck . . . I am sure you will do well. . . just follow the program and get up and get moving. . . . walking is the key.  I powerwalk now 3-4 miles a day.

Cbally-- also remember they told us to only expect 1-2 lbs a week.  So 9.6 in 2 weeks is really good.  Good Luck.

Jodi
