Hello collar bones!

I cannot believe it! For the first time in almost 11 years, I have collar bones! I just celebrated my 6 month 'surgiversary' on the 4th and I am down 95 pounds! In addition to this, my lab work came back absolutely perfect!

Nothing has been mentioned to me about looseing prior to surgery but my PATs is 16 Nov and Surg on 02 Dec. I am feeling alittle nervous since most people surrounding me are not reacting positively to my decision to have this done - all seem to feel if I went on a stricter diet and exercised more I should be able to do it on my own. However they dont realize I have other issues like bad hip that prevent me from doing alot of the exerciseing that I used to do. Most have noticed I do not go to curves anymore or swimming aqua arobics. Even walking at lunch hurts to the point that I cannot do it long enough for it to do me any good. I find it hard to explain to them and I feel like I am just making excuses so I dont bother anymore. One of my coworkers told me today that I will never be able to eat french fries or anything ever again. Is this true? I do realize that I will be eating differently but I thought there would still be occasions when I can have the foods I love in moderation. Now they have me scared and questioning my decision. Help I need som reassurance.

Just wanted to pass this along -- our chiropractor is also a nutritionist and recommends taking Biotin (herbal) to help combat the hair loss difficulty -- can get it at GNC and Vitamin World -- just a thought for those who are still dealing with this

i am still among the living -- go figure -- I think my last post was "1st and 10" -- 10 pounds to go to onederland -- well, I am finally down to 1 pound to go to onederland! only took 2 months! Yes, I should have been down to that before, but Dr. Pupkova is okay with the way it is going -- went back to work when school started and was not able to keep up with the walking and all that I was doing over the summer, but it is wierd -- when I remember to take all of my vitamins, I lose weight -- when I forget, I don't -- is that just a coincidence or is that really what is happening? I am trying to do everything right, it is just a bit slower than what it could be if I was working out every day -- I leave home at 6 am and don't get home til 5 -- then am in bed by 8 -- sucks, but somewhere in there I need to find the time to do what is right for me -- at least i am taking care of myself with the protein and vitamins -- my blood work WAS "dangerously low" on several of my vitamins, but I have been working to bring that up -- it will be one year 11/20 and I am officially down 99 pounds as of today -- their goal is another 25 pounds -- MY goal is another 50 -- not bad as far as Pupkova is concerned -- just hope everyone else is also doing well -- KEEP LOSING!!!! Onederland here I come!!!! (maybe tomorrow!)

I have PAT's on Dec 2 and Surgery Dec 16th! I am excited and trying not to let my anxiety get the best of me. I have been more motivated to get active, but have been struggling with food, not gaining, but not making the headway I was hoping for either. I won't give up though!

I was wondering, has anyone gone in for laporascopic bypass and ended up with an open incision?

Transition from full liquids to pureed

Hi Everybody,

I am 9 days post op and I have completed the clear liquids and currently on full liquids. Does anyone know if its possible to start pureed foods earlier than scheduled? I think my metabolism is slowing down and wondering if I should start pureed foods. I am eating 6 times a day on the full liquids but not losing any weight. Can anyone help?

I'm so excited!!! I got a call from Barix Clinics on 11/2 saying they turned in my information to the insurance company. I got home tonight and had a letter from my insurance company that I've been APPROVED!!!

OK, surgery went well. Been home for hours resting. Because OUCHIE MAMA!! He also took out my appendix while he was in there tying my tubes and checking out my other "lady parts". Will discuss at my follow-up what the next course of action will be. Possibly a partial hysterectomy, but he did say there may be other... options. We shall see. I want the chronic pain GONE. Thanks all for your well wishes!!

I'm pregnant

Okay so i just had a faint line pregnancy test. For you other ladies out there....what do i need to be aware of as far as nutrition goes. Also any pointers on how NOT to gain a ton of weight while pregnant? I would hate to gain back a large amount of the weight i just fought to get off. Any special precautions i need to make my dr. aware of. My surgery was 11/17/08.

Insurance issues

This is the first time for me.

I had the RNY done 2 years ago Nov 5,2007

I am from Kitchener, Ontario Canada

I had only high blood pressure at this point for health issues at which point reversed after 60 days of losing weight I do not drink or smoke.

After losing 195 pounds and fell like a million bucks.All my check up are 100% with no side affect at all. From 370 pounds to a respectable weight of 175 pounds.

Every insurance company rejects my claim for life insurance due to the surgery, has anyone out there having the same issue.

Its amazing they can do this I am in most cases in better health than they are !!!

PAT's in Langhorne 11/4

well I went for my PAT"s today in Langhorne, and I passed so I am ready for surgery next week I go see Dr. Lam for my pre-op visit, coming soon 11/23.
